Baby feeding products: how to buy at a good price

What exactly you need for feeding

This is a wide category: from bottles and pacifiers to breast pumps, bottle warmers, sterilisers, dishes and bibs. Each item is bought at its own time. A breast pump and a steriliser are needed even before you leave the maternity ward, and a high chair when the baby starts to sit and try solid food, usually closer to six months.

So always write the baby's age in months in your request, and what you already have at home. That way sellers won't offer what no longer fits.

What to look at for each type

  • Bottles and teats. Material: glass is heavier but easier to clean, plastic is light and doesn't break, silicone is soft. Teats come with different flow speeds, chosen by age. When you buy a new bottle, check that the teats are compatible with the ones you already have.
  • Breast pump. A manual one is quieter and cheaper, an electric one saves time. There are single and double pumps. Ask what comes in the set: funnels of different sizes, membranes, containers.
  • High chair. Look at height adjustment, backrest tilt, straps and a removable tray that is easy to wash.
  • Bottle warmer and steriliser. Look at how many bottles fit and whether they suit your bottles' diameter.

What to put in your request

  • what you need — a specific item or a set;
  • baby's age;
  • brand, for example Philips Avent, Medela, Chicco, MAM or Tommee Tippee;
  • specifications — bottle volume, teat flow, type of breast pump;
  • quantity and material;
  • condition, budget and delivery city.

Example: “I need 3 new glass bottles of 260 ml with a slow-flow teat, compatible with Philips Avent. The baby is 2 months old. Budget up to ₹3,000, courier delivery to Jaipur.”

New or used

Items that touch the baby's food, such as bottles, teats, pacifiers and breast pump funnels, are better bought new. Used can still be a sensible choice for a high chair, a bottle warmer or an electric pump, but then ask about every part that touches milk and whether those parts are new. Small old parts can often be replaced separately, which is cheaper than a new device.

How searching on BlaBlaPrice works

You write one request about feeding, and sellers of baby products reply in the chat: which model, what is in the set, the price, how they deliver. BlaBlaPrice compares the offers and shows the best one first, judged on what it contains, with reviews of the seller next to it. Contacts are hidden and opened only to the one you choose. Questions and answers

How many bottles does a newborn need?

Usually three or four are enough, so you have spares while others are being washed. If you feed formula you may take more, and write the exact number in your request.

How do I choose a breast pump?

A manual one suits occasional pumping, an electric one is handier for regular use. Ask what is in the set and whether your bottles fit, and if needed talk to a breastfeeding consultant.

Can I buy used feeding dishes?

Items that touch food are better bought new. Consider used for high chairs or bottle warmers, and ask about their condition.

Does the buyer pay for BlaBlaPrice?

No, it is free for buyers. The seller pays a small fee only when you choose them.
