Hair care: how to buy a shampoo, mask or serum and pay a fair price
Choose for your hair, not for the advert
What works for dry, coloured hair can weigh down fine hair that gets oily at the roots. So start with your hair type: dry, oily, coloured, curly, damaged. Then define the goal: volume, smoothness, colour care, against hair fall or dandruff.
Think about colour care separately: for coloured hair people often choose gentle sulphate-free shampoos and masks with proteins or keratin, and for blow-drying and straightening, a heat protection spray. Curly hair usually needs richer, creamy textures, fine hair light sprays and serums.
If hair fall is heavy or you have scalp problems, one product will not solve it. See a trichologist or dermatologist before buying “treatment” ranges.
What to put in your request
- Product — shampoo, conditioner, mask, oil, serum, spray, styling product, keratin.
- Hair type — dry, oily, coloured, curly, damaged.
- Concern or goal — against hair fall, dandruff, for volume, for smoothing.
- Brand — for example, Kérastase.
- Home or professional — salon ranges come in other sizes and strengths.
- Volume — 250 ml, 1000 ml.
- Quantity — important for bulk prices.
- Budget and city.
Example: “I need a professional mask for coloured, split-end hair, Kérastase, 1000 ml, 3 pieces for a salon. Sealed, with at least a year to expiry. Mumbai, courier delivery. Budget up to ₹12,000.”
Salon and home ranges
Professional products are often sold in large sizes with a pump, and per millilitre they can work out cheaper. But the concentration is different, so for home use ask the seller whether the product is suitable. Check that it is a genuine original: ask about the distributor and for photos of the packaging.
Compare by price per 100 ml
Jars of different sizes are hard to compare by eye. Bring the price to one volume, and you can see where it is really cheaper. Also look at the expiry date and manufacturing date, especially for masks and oils, and whether the product is sealed. Ask too whether a pump dispenser is included for litre jars and whether the seller can send a photo of the batch.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You write one request, and instead of searching for shops, sellers send offers in the chat. Before that the request is checked and you are prompted for anything missing. Sellers see where their offer stands and compete on terms. BlaBlaPrice shows the best one first, judged on what it offers, with seller reviews alongside. Your phone stays hidden until you choose, and the service is free for buyers. Read “How it works”. Also see hair dye and facial care.
