How to find a loan officer: bank, car showroom, store
Whom exactly are you looking for
Different people hide behind the name “loan officer”. In a bank branch it is an adviser who takes the customer from application to disbursement. In a car showroom it is a specialist who arranges car loans and connects the customer with partner banks. In an electronics or furniture store it is a person who sells EMI schemes at the counter. In a microfinance or NBFC office or a call centre it is a manager who handles a stream of applications and credit scoring.
A candidate from a bank will not always cope with sales at a counter, and the other way round. So in the post state at once which product is sold and where.
What to put in the job post
Candidates respond to specifics, and random ones filter themselves out:
- Loan products — personal loans, car loans, home loans, business loans or EMI at a store.
- Place of work — bank branch, car showroom, store counter, finance company, call centre.
- Duties — advice, taking and processing applications, working with the customer's documents, meeting the sales target.
- Salary — fixed pay plus a commission or bonus for loans disbursed, not just “negotiable”.
- Hours — five or six days a week, 9:30 to 18:30, or weekend work if the outlet is open daily.
- Experience — in a bank, in selling financial products or “no experience, we train”.
- Terms — official employment or another format.
- City and area — where exactly the workplace is.
Example request
“I am looking for a loan officer for a car showroom in Lucknow. Car loans and leasing, advice and processing applications together with partner banks. Six days a week from 9:30 to 18:30. Fixed pay ₹20,000 plus a bonus for each loan disbursed. Experience in a bank or car sales of at least 1 year, official employment.”
How it works through BlaBlaPrice
You write one request in your own words, and you can add a photo or a logo. Before it is shown, it is checked: ads and contacts are removed from the text, and you get hints on what details candidates lack. Then suitable candidates in your region reply in the chat: they tell you about their experience, when they can join and what pay they expect.
BlaBlaPrice compares the replies and shows the strongest by content first, and the reviews of the candidate are visible next to it. Your phone is hidden, and contacts open only with the one you choose. It is free for the employer. More on the “How it works” page.
What to look at in the replies
Ask which products the person worked with and whether they have numbers: how many applications a month, what approval rate. For EMI schemes at a counter, speed and the ability to handle a queue matter, and for home loans, patience and knowledge of documents. Ask whether the candidate is ready for a sales target, and say honestly how the bonus is calculated.
A typical mistake is to promise high income without explaining what it is made of. This puts off experienced people. If you also need a specialist from another area, see the neighbouring jobs: insurance agent or lawyer.
