Phone and smartphone repair: compare technicians’ offers
Model and fault are the basis of any price
Replacing the screen of an iPhone 13 Pro and of a budget Android phone are two different stories in the cost of the part. So “my phone is broken” tells a technician almost nothing. They need the exact model (you can see it in Settings or on the back cover), what exactly is broken and in what circumstances: a fall, water, charging, or it just stopped switching on.
If the phone got wet, say so right away. Corrosion develops over time, and the sooner the technician starts cleaning the board, the better the chance of avoiding the replacement of components.
How to get offers instead of calling around
On BlaBlaPrice you create one request and wait for replies. You can add one photo, for example of cracks on the display. The request is checked before it is shown, and you are told which details the technicians still need.
Technicians in your city reply in the chat: price, or what it depends on, time and warranty. Each sees their place among the other offers, so it makes sense for them to offer better terms. The one that is best on substance is shown first, with reviews beside each. You give your number only to the technician you choose. More about how it works is here.
What to write in your request
- Model — for example, iPhone 13 Pro, not just “iPhone”.
- The fault — broken screen, touch not working, battery drains fast, will not charge.
- The cause — a fall, water, after an update, no reason.
- Quality of parts — original, a copy OLED or a simpler compatible one.
- Data — whether photos and contacts must be saved.
- Time — within an hour, within a day, not urgent.
- Warranty — on the part and on the labour.
- City or area and budget, if you want to state one.
Example: “iPhone 13 Pro dropped, broken screen, touch works only now and then. I need a repair in Kolkata, Salt Lake, preferably today or tomorrow. Original display, 3-month warranty, photos must be kept. Budget up to ₹12,000.”
Original, copy or compatible
This is where offers differ the most. A copy display costs less but may differ in brightness, power use and touch response. Technicians do not always name the type of part first, so ask them to state it in the offer. The battery is the same story: capacity and origin vary.
Also ask whether the repair honestly includes a check after reassembly: cameras, microphone, charging, Face ID or fingerprint, speakers. A good technician does this in front of you.
What to agree on before you start
Whether the diagnosis is free; whether the price is final if another problem is found during dismantling; whether a backup is made. Before handing the phone over, turn off the account lock or ask the technician how to do it safely. Do not leave the phone without a receipt or a job slip.
