Portable toilet and site cabin hire: for events and building sites
Two different jobs: celebration and construction
Portable toilets and site cabins are often hired for different purposes. For a wedding or a festival you need cabins for a day or two, and on a building site you need a cabin for several months, where the crew changes, eats and stores tools. Everything depends on this: period, fittings, servicing.
For an event, go by the number of guests and the duration. Long events need more cabins than a short party, and it is better to have them serviced during the event.
What to put in your request
- What to hire — toilet cabin, site cabin (portable room), container; for a site cabin, the length, for example 6 m.
- Quantity — how many cabins or units.
- What for — a wedding for 100 guests, a building crew, a festival, a farmhouse.
- Period — a day, a weekend, two months.
- Servicing — whether you need emptying and cleaning, and how often, for example once a week.
- Fittings — insulation, electricity, furniture, sink, cooling or heating.
- Delivery and placing — whether a crane or lifting vehicle is needed.
- Site address — city or village, access for vehicles.
- Budget, if you want to name one.
Example request
“I need an insulated 6 m site cabin with electricity, two benches and a fan for 2 months for a crew of 5. Gurugram, delivery and placing by crane. Also 2 portable toilets with servicing once a week. Budget up to ₹25,000 per month.”
What to look at when choosing
For a site cabin, size is not the only thing. Ask about insulation, the state of the floor and windows, sockets and the circuit breaker, and whether there is a lock. In summer heat, one without insulation or cooling is hard to work in. Also find out whether the vehicle can reach your yard or site: a crane needs access and room to turn.
For portable toilets, the frequency of emptying and the supply of water matter, as well as whether soap, paper and a mirror are provided. For long events, ask for a mobile hand-wash basin. Ask separately whether the service vehicle's visit is charged.
For an event outdoors, check whether the cabin is stable on uneven ground, whether it can stand near the road, and whether there is lighting inside. These are small things that guests notice at once.
Common mistakes
Not counting enough cabins: for a big celebration with a hundred guests, one cabin is clearly too few. Not counting the cost of delivery and lifting equipment. Not agreeing a servicing schedule, and then finding a full cabin in the middle of the event.
How BlaBlaPrice works
You write one request, and companies that hire out such cabins and portable rooms reply in the chat: what is included, price, delivery, servicing. They see where their offer stands and improve their terms. Your phone number stays hidden until you choose. Details on the page “How it works”. You may also need generator hire for power.
