Order a sign: lit boxes, 3D letters, neon
First decide the type of structure
The word “sign” hides a whole range of products with different prices and making times. A light box is a frame with an illuminated front of film or acrylic. 3D letters are cut from plastic, composite or metal, with or without lighting. A neon sign today is often made with flexible LED neon. Separately there are banners, window films, pylons and stelae.
If you are not sure, describe where the sign will hang and what you want to show, and the makers will suggest suitable options themselves.
What to put in your request
- type of structure — a box, 3D letters, neon, a banner, shopfront branding;
- dimensions — length and height, for example 3 × 0.6 m, or the window area for film;
- lighting — none, LED, neon, back-lit;
- materials — composite, acrylic, PVC, film, metal;
- artwork — whether you have a logo or ready design, or need it developed;
- installation — on which facade, at what height, whether a lift platform is needed, whether permissions are needed;
- address — the city and area where it will be installed;
- timing — for example, by the opening date;
- budget — if you want to name one.
Example: “I need 3D letters with LED lighting for a café, 3 m long and 0.6 m high, in composite and acrylic. I have the logo, and the artwork needs finishing. To be fitted on the facade at first-floor level, Koregaon Park, Pune. Must be ready by 1 November, budget up to ₹40,000.”
What affects the cost
- Material and complexity: simple film on glass and a metal frame with acrylic cost different amounts.
- Lighting: the type of LEDs, the power supply and cable, which may or may not be in the price.
- Installation: the height, the need for a lift platform and the difficulty of the facade.
- Artwork: if there is a ready vector file, there is less work.
- Timing: a rush job is often dearer.
What to look at in offers
Make sure all the providers are pricing the same sizes, materials and type of lighting. Check whether installation, delivery, consumables and the artwork itself are in the price. Ask for photos of similar work, especially evening shots: the lighting should look even, without dark patches.
Ask about the warranty on the LEDs and the power supply, and about who is responsible for getting the sign approved: in many cities, putting outdoor advertising on a facade has rules and needs permission, so it is better to find this out before ordering.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You don't phone signage workshops: you create a request, and makers reply with offers in the chat giving price, timing and installation terms. The request is checked before it is shown, and you see a hint about which details are missing. Providers see where they stand among the others and can improve their terms, so the price often turns out better. Contacts open only to the provider you choose. More on how it works.
