Used Chery parts: how to find a part from a breaker quickly
First name the model and generation exactly
Chery cars are very different from each other: Amulet, Elara, QQ, Kimo, Jaggi, Eastar and the Tiggo line (2, 4, 7, 8). Parts from a first-generation Tiggo will not fit the newer ones, and the Amulet often came with different engine and trim versions. Write not just “Chery Tiggo” but also the year and engine size.
What people look for most
Headlights, bumpers, doors and wings after minor accidents. Engines and gearboxes when the motor needs a major overhaul. Running gear and suspension matter too, because units from different model years can look similar but have different mountings.
What to put in your request
- Car model — for example Chery Tiggo 2;
- Which part — for example the engine;
- Year and body — for example 2010;
- Engine — size and type, for example 2.0 petrol;
- Side — front left or another;
- Colour for body parts;
- Condition of the part — new or used, undamaged, from a breaker;
- VIN, for example LVVDB11B5AD123456;
- Delivery city and budget.
Example: “I need a 2.0 petrol engine for a 2010 Chery Tiggo, from a breaker, with the ancillaries and a start-up video. VIN LVVDB11B5AD123456. Courier delivery to Kolkata, budget up to ₹40,000.”
Original, aftermarket or used
For Chinese cars there are three routes. A new original part is reliable but can take long to arrive. An aftermarket part is cheaper, though quality varies. A part from a breaker has a known origin and fits the mountings, but has its own wear. In your request you can say right away that you will consider all options, and compare the offers.
Asking for a photo of your old part next to the offered one is the simplest way to avoid a mistake. Ask about a warranty too, at least for testing.
Older Chery cars such as the Amulet or QQ are often repaired with parts “from a breaker”, because that is the quickest way. For such cars, photograph the mounting spot and the engine plate: they show which exact version you have. If a part is rare, a seller may offer several similar ones, so compare them by photos and completeness.
