Climate control equipment: air conditioners, heaters, humidifiers
First measure the room, then choose the appliance
Climate control equipment works well only when its capacity matches the room. You need the floor area, ceiling height, number of windows and which way they face, and whether a kitchen or computers nearby heat the air. Without this, a seller may suggest an appliance that either can't cope or uses a lot of power for nothing.
Another important point is the season. It is better to order air conditioners before the summer heat and heaters before the cold, because in season installers are busy and waiting times are longer.
Which appliance for what
- Cooling and heating. Air conditioners come as split, cassette and portable. Write the area, the type (inverter or non-inverter), the capacity you need in tonnes or BTU, and whether you need installation.
- Local heat. Heaters and convectors: oil-filled, infrared, convectors, fan heaters. Give the power, whether there is a thermostat, overheat protection and the way it is mounted.
- Air movement. Fans: floor, table, tower, their noise level, remote and number of speeds.
- Air quality. Humidifiers, purifiers and dehumidifiers: water tank size, coverage area, filter type, output.
What to put in your request
It helps to mention at once: the type of appliance, the area and floor, the brand or class you want, whether you need installation, your city, and whether you would consider a used one. For an air conditioner, add a photo of the wall or the place of installation, so sellers can judge the pipe run and how difficult the job is.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
Instead of phoning shops and installers, you write one request. It is checked, extra detail is removed, and you get hints about what is missing. Then sellers of climate equipment in your area reply with offers in the chat: model, price, delivery terms and sometimes installation.
BlaBlaPrice compares the replies and shows the best one by value first, with seller reviews next to each. Sellers see their place among the others, so they compete on terms, and the price often comes out better. Contacts stay hidden until you choose a seller. Details are on the “How it works” page.
How to compare and what people often forget
For air conditioners, ask what is included in the price: standard installation usually has a pipe length limit, and extra metres, pipes or a bracket are charged separately. Ask about the energy rating (star rating) and the lowest temperature at which it still heats.
For humidifiers and purifiers, the cost and availability of filters matter: the appliance may be cheap to buy, but the consumables make it expensive. Compare heaters by power and safety, not by design.
Typical mistakes: picking the capacity by eye, ignoring noise in a bedroom, and not agreeing on a warranty for the installation.
Installation, maintenance and power use
An air conditioner needs regular servicing: cleaning the filters and the indoor unit, and checking the refrigerant. Agree with the seller whether they offer service and how long the installation warranty lasts. Electricity bills depend on the rating and on inverter technology: an inverter changes its output smoothly, so it runs quieter and uses less power.
For heaters, check whether your wiring can take the load: a powerful appliance may trip the breaker. If the wiring in your home is weak, talk to an electrician before buying.
