Car first aid kit, fire extinguisher and warning triangle
What every car should have
The basic kit for a driver is a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher and a warning triangle. Many people add a reflective jacket and a tow rope. The exact requirements depend on the vehicle type, so a car, a van, a bus and a truck may need different sets. For a taxi, passenger transport or a long trip, check the current rules: ask the seller whether the kit meets what you need, and look for it in the description.
Fire extinguisher: type and charge
The most common type for cars is the dry powder extinguisher, sold by the weight of its charge, for example 2 kg. For a car, 2 kg is usually enough; vans and trucks take a bigger one. CO2 extinguishers leave no powder behind, but they are less often fitted in cars. Check the manufacturing date and the expiry or refill date: an expired extinguisher may not work. A bracket is useful so it does not slide around the cabin.
First aid kit and triangle
In the first aid kit, check the contents and the expiry date of every medicine and dressing. Don’t buy the cheapest one “just to have it”. Choose a kit with a tourniquet, sterile bandages, plasters and wound-cleaning items. It is best to check the medical contents with a doctor. The warning triangle should be stable, with a reflective surface, come in a case and open without effort. See how fast it unfolds, because on the road you may have little time.
What to put in your request
- What you need — a single item or a full driver’s kit.
- Contents — what should be inside, for example extinguisher, first aid kit, triangle, rope.
- Extinguisher type — dry powder or CO2, and the charge, for example 2 kg.
- Requirements — for a taxi, for a long trip, expiry date.
- Vehicle — car, van, bus, truck.
- Quantity — if it is for a fleet.
- Delivery and budget.
Example: “I need 10 driver’s kits for a fleet of vans: a 2 kg dry powder extinguisher, first aid kit, warning triangle and reflective jacket. Bills and documents are needed. Courier delivery to Pune, budget up to ₹1,500 per kit.”
How to compare offers
For a fleet, ask for the bulk price and whether you will get a GST invoice. For a single purchase, look at the expiry date: don’t accept stock where the first aid kit is already close to expiring. If you buy several kits, ask the seller to state the expiry date of every item.
How BlaBlaPrice helps
You write one request, and sellers reply in the chat with offers that show the contents, price and delivery. For bulk orders they compete on volume. The site puts the offer with the best value first, and reviews are shown next to each one. Your phone number stays hidden, and only the seller you choose will see it. More on the “How it works” page.
For the road you may also need a spanner set and a car tyre inflator.
