Parts for boat engines and water vehicles
Start with the motor, not the boat
Most parts in this category are chosen by the outboard motor or the jet ski, not by the boat itself. So in your request the most important things are: make, model, power in horsepower and year. For a Yamaha 40XMHS and a Yamaha 40 of another series the parts can differ, so it is better to give the full marking from the motor’s plate.
Stroke type and power
Two-stroke and four-stroke motors have different spark plugs, pumps, gaskets and fuel systems. So in your request always state 2T or 4T and the power in hp.
What to put in your request
- Which part — propeller, water pump impeller, gearbox repair kit, carburettor, ignition coil, starter;
- Model of the motor or boat with the full marking;
- Power in hp and the stroke type;
- Year of manufacture;
- Marking — the part number or, for a propeller, diameter and pitch;
- Original or aftermarket;
- Condition — new or used;
- Delivery city and budget.
Example: “I need a propeller for a Yamaha 40XMHS, two-stroke, 40 hp, 2015, size 11 1/8 x 13-G, original Yamaha. Delivery to Kochi, budget up to ₹8,000.”
Propellers and impellers: what to look at
A propeller is chosen by diameter, pitch, number of blades and the hub design. The wrong pitch changes the maximum revs and the load on the motor. If you are not sure, photograph the old propeller and write the marking cast on it. The impeller of the cooling pump is a consumable part: it should be changed on schedule and bought with a gasket. Choose a gearbox repair kit by the exact model, because the seals and gaskets differ.
How to compare offers
Check that the seller has stated compatibility with your motor exactly. Ask whether it is original or aftermarket, and whether there is a warranty. For Yamaha, Mercury and Tohatsu there are often aftermarket parts from known makers, which are cheaper, but they must match the dimensions. For used parts, ask how long ago it was taken off the motor and whether there are signs of corrosion from salt water or cracks. For outboards it is useful to ask whether the part was kept in a dry place, and for jet skis whether it ran in salt water. Before replacing a propeller, also check the thrust washers and the cotter pin: they are often bought together, because old ones should not be reused.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You describe the part in one request, and sellers of water-vehicle parts reply in the chat. They compete for your choice, and the platform shows first the offer that is best on content, with reviews. Your phone number stays hidden until you choose a seller yourself. More in “How it works”.
