Truck parts: original, aftermarket or used at a good price
Downtime costs more than the part
When a truck stands, every day is a lost trip. So in this category both price and speed matter: whether the part is in stock or must be ordered and waited for. In your request, say right away how urgent the part is, and sellers will state realistic times.
What to state for an exact match
- Which part — air dryer, brake pads, clutch, injector, cab part;
- Truck model — Tata, Ashok Leyland, BharatBenz, Eicher, Volvo, Scania, with the power or the model number;
- Year of manufacture and generation;
- Engine — make and model, for example Cummins;
- VIN — decisive for an exact match;
- Part number from the old part;
- Original or aftermarket, the brand;
- Condition — new, used in working order, reconditioned;
- Delivery city and budget.
Example: “Tata Prima 2518, 2015, I need an air dryer with a cartridge, original or Knorr-Bremse. Delivery to Jaipur, budget up to ₹15,000.”
Where you can save and where you should not
The brake system, fuel equipment and steering are an area where a fake or a cheap unknown aftermarket part can cost you an accident. Here it is better to take the original or known brands. But for brackets, hoses, headlights, mirrors and cab parts, a quality aftermarket or a used part from a dismantler often works.
One more trick is to buy in sets. For example, pads together with discs, or a clutch with the release bearing. Sellers often give a better price for a set.
How to compare offers
The same part can have different numbers at different makers. Ask for compatibility to be confirmed by the VIN. Find out whether a new part has a warranty and whether it can be returned if it does not fit. For used parts, pay attention to the donor’s mileage and the presence of photos. Ask separately about the cost of delivery, because heavy units are sent by freight.
What else will affect your decision
For newer trucks with electronics (for example Volvo or Scania), some parts are tied to control units, and after replacement programming is needed. Ask the seller whether that is so for your part and whether it can be done at an ordinary workshop. For older trucks the choice is wider, because the aftermarket is large, but the quality varies a lot, so look at the reviews of the seller.
If you are buying engine parts, check whether gaskets and bolts are needed: they are often replaced together with the main part, and they are sold separately.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You describe what you need once in a request, and sellers reply in the chat with offers with price and terms. Each sees which place they hold among others, so they adjust the price or the times. Your phone number stays hidden. More in how it works.
