Marquee, table and chair hire for a wedding or celebration
Count your guests and check the venue first
A marquee, tables and chairs for an event start with two numbers: how many guests and how much space. A seated banquet needs much more room per guest than a cocktail party. So before you write the request, decide the format: seated dinner, cocktail party, lounge area or conference.
Then comes the surface. A marquee can go on a lawn, tiles or asphalt, but the fixing is different: on grass it is pegged down, on a hard surface it is weighted. Without this the company cannot work out the set-up.
What to put in your request
- what to hire — marquee, tables, chairs (Chiavari, cross-back), lounge furniture, bar tables, stage;
- quantity — for example, 100 chairs and 10 tables;
- number of guests and format: banquet or cocktail;
- occasion — wedding, birthday, corporate event, product launch;
- date and duration — including set-up the day before;
- style and colour — white chairs, wooden tables, chair covers;
- venue — type of surface and area, for example a lawn of 15×10 m;
- delivery and set-up, event location and budget.
Example: “Wedding on 30 November for 50 guests, a farmhouse in Chhatarpur, Delhi. I need a white marquee for a 15×10 m lawn, 6 round tables and 50 white Chiavari chairs. Delivery, set-up and dismantling included. Budget up to ₹80,000.”
How to compare offers
Look separately at what is in the price: a marquee with or without side walls, flooring, lighting, cooling or heating. Judge tables and chairs by the number of seats they give you, not only by the “price per piece”. The price per chair usually depends on the model: Chiavari costs differently from a plain banquet chair.
Ask about set-up and pick-up timings: if the marquee arrives on the morning of the event, and you counted on the evening before, it will upset your plan. Also ask what happens in case of rain or wind, which matters in the monsoon.
Common mistakes
- Underestimating the area: besides tables, you need aisles, a stage and a service zone.
- Ignoring site preparation: level ground, access for a truck.
- Not ordering a margin: more guests often turn up than are on the list.
- Not agreeing on dismantling: who takes the structures away after the event, and when.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You write one request, and hire companies reply with offers in the chat: the set, the price, set-up, terms. The site checks your request and suggests what details are missing. Offers compete with each other, so terms often turn out better. Only the company you choose sees your contacts. More details: “How it works”.
