Hire of bicycles, e-scooters and motorbikes
Choose the vehicle for the route and your height
For a ride along the seafront, a city bicycle or an e-scooter will do. For hill roads, a mountain bike or an e-bike with a good range. For a trip between villages, a scooter or a motorbike. First decide where you will go and how many kilometres you will cover in a day. An e-bike makes climbs easier, but its range depends on the terrain and the weight it carries.
Size matters too. For a bicycle the frame size is the main thing: a person 180 cm tall usually needs a 19–21" frame, and one 160 cm tall a smaller one. A wrong fit tires you quickly and is unsafe at speed.
What to put in your request
- what to rent — bicycle, e-bike, e-scooter, scooter or motorbike;
- size — frame size, wheel diameter, engine capacity for motorised vehicles;
- rental period — dates, or the number of hours and days;
- quantity — if you ride as a group;
- height and, for a motorbike, your driving licence category;
- gear — helmet, lock, child seat, protection;
- delivery — whether it should be brought and collected;
- deposit — whether you can leave one or want hire without it;
- city and budget per day or in total.
Example: “I need an e-bike for 3 days from Friday, rider 180 cm tall, Bengaluru, Indiranagar. Preferably with a helmet and lock, delivered to my home. Budget up to ₹800 a day.”
What to compare in the offers
Check the conditions the vehicle is given in: whether there is a helmet, a lock, a spare tube and pump, and whether insurance is included. For electric vehicles, ask about the charge and the range on one charge, and whether a charger is provided. For motorbikes, check the requirements for a driving licence and experience.
Look at the deposit separately: it can be money, an ID document or a card. Find out when and how it is returned and what counts as damage. Good hire shops describe the condition of the vehicle and take photos before handover.
Common mistakes
- Taking a bicycle “by eye” without checking the frame and the saddle: after an hour on the road you will feel it.
- Not checking the brakes, tyres and chain at handover and not photographing scratches.
- Forgetting that in the season and at weekends the free vehicles run out first.
- Riding a motorbike or scooter without the right licence and a helmet.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You write one request in your own words, and hire shops in your city reply with offers: price, terms, availability of helmets, delivery. Lenders see where their offer stands and can improve their terms. Only the one you choose sees your contacts. Details are on the “How it works” page.
For active leisure there is also hire of sports and camping gear.
