Order car or bike repair: garages offer price and timing
Describe the symptom, not the diagnosis
Most owners don't know what exactly broke, and that's normal. In the request write what is happening: where it knocks, when the warning light comes on, at what mileage. If the cause is unclear, start with computer diagnostics, and then order the repair with a clear list of work. For routine work, servicing and oil change fits.
Where to go by type of fault
Engine, transmission and suspension are separate specialities. Some garages take on engine repair, gearbox repair, suspension and brake repair or steering rack repair. For diesels there is specialist fuel-system repair, and for electrics you go to auto electricians.
After an accident you will need body repair and painting, and small dents are sometimes removed without painting. Other services: tyre fitting, windscreen, tinting, detailing, interior cleaning, CNG kit fitting. For electric and hybrid cars look for a specialist garage, for motorcycles motorcycle repair, for trucks truck and special-vehicle repair. If the car breaks down on the road, you need roadside assistance.
What to put in your request
- car or bike: make, model, year, engine size, VIN if needed;
- what is happening: symptoms, diagnostic notes, fault codes;
- work needed: diagnostics, replacing a part, full repair;
- spare parts: your own, original or aftermarket, from the mechanic;
- condition of the vehicle: drivable, or a tow is needed;
- city and area, convenient time;
- timing: whether it is urgent;
- budget, if you want to name it.
How to compare garage offers
The price of a repair is made up of the cost of labour and of parts, and they often sit in different columns. Ask how much the labour costs separately and how much the parts, what kind of parts they are (original, aftermarket), and whether there is a warranty on the work and on the parts. Ask for a list of the work and agree that extra work is approved before it is done, not after.
Also confirm the timing, whether they give you a bill and the replaced parts, and whether the garage can work on your make. For complex cases, check the reviews of the mechanic next to the offer.
Tyre fitting is busiest before the monsoon and before long holiday weekends, so book ahead. Body repair and painting depend on the number of panels, the colour and whether parts have to be removed, so an honest mechanic won't quote a sum “by eye”. Add a few photos of the damage to the request, and for electrics or the engine, the fault codes from diagnostics, if you have them.
For hybrids and electric cars look for a garage with experience of high-voltage systems: working with high voltage is dangerous. In general, look at the equipment: diagnosing a modern car needs a scanner that supports your make, and for repairing a gearbox or engine, experience with the specific model matters. So give the make and the VIN, and ask in the chat whether the mechanic has done something similar.
How BlaBlaPrice works
You write one request, and mechanics and garages reply in the chat: the price or what it depends on, timing, terms. The platform shows the one that is best on substance first. Mechanics see where they rank among the others, so they compete for your request. Contacts stay hidden until you choose. More on the page “How it works”.
